Certification Policy

RCG carry out rigorous checks to ensure that results for all assessment components are accurately recorded, and that marks are aggregated correctly to confirm the correct grade and whether an apprentice is eligible for certification. 

These checks (second review) are undertaken by the Managing Partner prior to certification request.  

We are dedicated to accurately reporting results and recognising the achievements of those who successfully complete their end-point assessments. Candidates will be provided with in depth feedback post assessment acknowledging their achievement. 

Procedure

Railway Competence Group will obtain written consent to use the apprentice’s personal data to apply for the certificate on their behalf. 

The Managing Partner - Delivery will: 

• Check that the evidence for each of the End Point Assessment components has been uploaded correctly. 

• Check the end-point assessor has assigned the pass / fail grade for each component. 

• Check the end-point assessor has assigned an overall preliminary grade. 

• Check Railway Competence Group have written consent to apply for certification on behalf of the apprentice. 

• Check there are no outstanding IQA sampling or Appeals Actions required. 

• Record the final grade on ACE360. 

• Ace360 API will automatically update the assessment service, and the certificate will be automatically generated and sent to the relevant training provider. 

Quality Assurance

The first time the evidence upload process is completed by a member of staff, the IQA will observe/sample the process. 

Replacement, Duplicates and Corrections

The apprentice's details will be checked prior to assigning final grade as the certificate will be automatically generated. Upon noting any errors, the Managing Partner - Delivery will contact the Training Provider to ensure they are corrected. 

Certificate is then requested automatically through Ace360.
